Dr. Clay Jones, author of 'Why Does God Allow Evil?'

If God is good and all-powerful, why doesn’t He put a stop to the evil in this world? Non-Christians and Christians alike struggle with the concept of a loving God who allows widespread suffering in this life and never-ending punishment in hell. We wrestle with questions such as...

  • Why do bad things happen to good people?
  • Why should we have to suffer for Adam's sin?
  • How could people go to Hell because they never heard the Gospel?

But what if the real problem doesn’t start with God… but with us? In this ONLINE COURSE, Dr. Clay Jones examines what Scripture truly says about the nature of evil and why God allows it. Along the way, he’ll help you discover the contrasting abundance of God’s grace, the overwhelming joy of Heaven, and the extraordinary destiny of believers.

Where is God When Bad Things Happen?

Most Christians consider to the problem of evil to be THE MOST troubling question of our faith: Why Does God Allow Evil? In this course, we will not just talk about possible answers to why God allows evil. Nor will this course resort to simply saying that arguments from evil are insufficient to show that Christianity is false. Rather, this course will actually answer the question of why God allows evil--we know the answer, the Bible tells us the answer, but what we've found is that Christians have not thought the answers through to the point that they are emotionally compelling enough to share with others. The key questions we will resolve (other than WHY God allows evil) are:

  • How can we answer the logical problem of evil?
  • Why do we suffer for Adam's sin?
  • Why does God allow children to suffer and die?
  • Why do BAD things happen to GOOD people?
  • How is Hell fair?
  • What happens to people who don't know God?
  • What is the nature of free will and why is it important?
  • Will Heaven be worth it? Will it be boring?
  • How does our suffering here relate to how we spend eternity?

And MANY MORE!
